What is paintball?

It's a sport in which players go out in the woods and relive their childhood by playing capture the flag. Only, in this game each player has a marker that fires gelatin capsules filled with a water-soluble marking dye. If you're hit and marked, you're eliminated from the game and wait a few minutes until the next one starts. The most common variation is two teams at opposite ends of a 10+ acre section of terrain, each with a flag hung at home base. The object is to go get the other team's flag and bring it back to your base to win. When you encounter people on the other team, you try to mark them out before they get you. Pretty simple and lots of fun.

Is it safe?

Like all action sports (football, basket ball, etc.) paintball is safe when following proper safety rules and common sense. Most paintball markers shoot a .68 caliber paint pellet, similar to a round vitamin type capsule. The pellet is a thin plastic shell filled with water soluble paint. Markers shoot the pellets at a speed of 200 to 300 feet per second. Safety is highly stressed at AG Paintball. We require approved goggles be worn at all times unless in safety areas, and also require that barrel bags (covers that prevent paintballs from leaving your marker's barrel) be used while players are in these safety areas.

Doesn't it hurt when you get hit?

The paint pellets splatter upon impact, and generally cause a light snap (like a rubber band). Close shots will hurt a little more, so keep your distance.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Anyone 12 years old or older can play paintball. This game is not for children!! Players under 18 years old, must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver form.

What time should I plan on getting to the field?

If you are playing all day, you should try to arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 am for check in, and morning safety briefing. Have your driver’s license or other photo ID with you for check in. If you are not playing all day, please arrive one half hour prior to your scheduled play time.

Do we need a whole team to play?

No, walk on players (single players) are welcome every Saturday and Sunday. We will make sure you play in the appropriate group, at your skill level. If you want a private party, you need a minimum of 20 players.

Do we play with experienced "Rambo" type players?

No, generally novice players play only with other new players, and vice versa. Experienced players generally play in their own game at the more experienced level.

Can we have a private game?

Yes, with 15 or more players, we assign two referees to run your group independently of other groups playing for the day. You choose your own two teams and have your own private matches.

Do you do weekday games?

Yes, with 15 or more players, we will arrange to open our facility for your group during the week.

What should we wear for clothing?

Army fatigues or camo's are recommended, but woods colored clothing (brown, black, green) will also work well. Since you will be getting dirty, you may want to bring a change of clothes for a comfortable ride home.

Can I get the paint out of my clothes?

Paint is water soluble and should wash out of clothes without a problem, however we do suggest that the clothing you wear to play is clothing you have no particular care for.

What safety equipment do I need?

We provide a full face mask and protective goggle system for all players. In addition a protective cup and/or knee pads are recommended. Boots or hiking shoes with ankle support work well for the uneven terrain.

What if we get hungry?

We have a great covered patio with gas grills. Bring your food if you want to have your own cookout! You can also order from our local Pizza shop!

Is alcohol permitted?

Only after you have surrendered your equipment at the end of the day. Then feel free to enjoy some refreshments on our patio. We ask that people who consume alcohol are of legal age to do so. If any one is drinking alcohol during playing time they will be removed from the playing area and asked to return their equipment.
